Post Conference Institute 3 hour Workshop : Leading Effective Teams
Concluded on Wednesday, November 1 2017
In the first hour, participants will study and explore a framework for school change based on a model from the MIT Teaching Systems Lab and MIT Sloan School of Management. In the second hour, participants will learn how to assemble and develop an effective team. They will learn how to address common team challenges, such as skeptical team members and boring, unproductive meetings. In the final hour, participants will examine the personal leadership qualities they bring to their school, and will create an individualized plan to build their own skill set as leaders. This is an interactive workshop, with practical tasks and resources for school leaders to engage with throughout the session. Participants should be prepared to engage in discussion with each other, and to think critically on their unique leadership role and their particular school context.
Goal
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to apply a framework for school change, employ tools for assembling and developing an effective team, and articulate a plan to develop their individual capacity for school leadership

Ms Stella Dubish is an Education Consultant working with public and private schools in Boston, USA. Previously, Ms Dubish was Director of ESL and Department Chair of History at Boston Prep, and was the Academic Director of EC Boston. She has been a teacher of English for 18 years, and a school leader for 7 years
